Young People : Aldridge Youth Fellowship
Below you will find some information about us, but our main website is ayf.aldridgeparish.org.uk
Aldridge Youth Fellowship is a group for school years 9-13 (13-18 year olds) and meets at the Church Centre. Our main meeting is 8pm-10pm on Fridays and we also meet after the 10:25 service on Sundays, from around 12:15-14:00.
Our Friday meetings are usually attended by around 40 young people and consist of a social time with tuck shop, an activity or game (such as human battleships, rave nights, film nights, quiz) and finally an "epilogue". During the epilogue our band leads us in a time of sung worship, and we hear a short talk related to the Christian faith. You do not have to pay to attend, but we ask that those who are able give subs of 50p per week towards our running costs.
At our Sunday meetings, we have lunch together, play a game, and look more deeply at who God is and how we follow him. We usually do Bible studies, but we've also done courses such as Freedom in Christ and the Origins Course from 24/7 Prayer.
A few times per term, we have jam sessions. This is a chance for musicians and singers of all standards at AYF to come together and play worship songs. These take place in the church building. Get in touch if you are interested in this and would like to find out more.
We also hold a Summer Ball and a Christmas "Snowball" every year, a week long camp in the Summer holidays, a weekend away at Whitemoor Lakes in the Spring Term, and go on trips such as bowling or soft play.
