"On the night before he was betrayed, at supper with his friends..."
Join us this year for a Passover Meal on Maundy Thursday, 28th March. With the bitter herbs, the salty water, the haroseth and the wine we will recreate the Last Supper in a way which might be like the Passover supper Jesus shared with his friends. We will then enjoy a delicious meal (lamb and vegan options are available).
The evening is suitable for children, and there are games they can play - 'hunt the afikomen' (which brings a prize of chocolate!) and wearing the plague masks to help us remember the deliverance from Egypt.
As well as being a fun evening together as a church, celebrating the Last Supper in this way also gives some context to what we're doing when we celebrate communion in church. We'd love to see you there.
Drop in to the Church Centre between 10.30am and noon. There will be lots of things for children and families to do, but you're very welcome if you want to come with a neighbour, grab a coffee, and play a game of Connect 4!
Our annual Good Friday meditation will start at 2pm. We will read Mark's gospel from the point where the disciples leave the Last Supper up until the point where Jesus breathes his last on the cross. With quiet times for reflection.
Join us in the churchyard of the Parish Church between 7.30pm to 8.30pm for hot chocolate, & toasted marshmallows. There will be reflective activities in the church. Light a candle in memory of someone you have loved and lost. Write down something you want to receive forgiveness for and nail it to the cross. Plant a bulb and take it with you as a reminder of the new life God offers in the light of the resurrection of Jesus. At 8.15 we will gather round the fire for a short spoken service in anticipation of the Easter Dawn.
Our All Age Easter Service will take place at 10.30am in the Parish Church on Easter Day. Celebrating the resurrection of Jesus we will sing songs of praise, share communion, and watch Joseph of Arimathea & his wife wondering what has happened to their 'Tomb with a View'.
