Sunday Groups

For children from birth to age 4

With the exception of All Age Services, where all of our children stay in church throughout the service, we run a crèche in the front bedroom of the church house next door to the church. Children from birth to four are welcomed by two crèche workers. There are toys to play with and also a story, worship songs, craft and prayer activity for the older children to join in with as part of their morning with us.

Parents and carers may choose to keep very young children in church with them throughout the service and pop along to the crèche room whenever the need arises. We welcome young children at Tynings Lane Church and want all parents and children to feel relaxed and accepted as an invaluable part of our church family.

For children from reception to school year 6

This is our group for primary aged children (reception to year 6). We meet in the lounge of the church house, next door to the church, after a short time of worship in church. Led by a regular team of children’s workers Monkey is a great place to have fun, make friends and learn more about being a follower of Jesus. Our sessions include games, songs, Bible stories, craft, discussions and prayer. We currently have between 6 and 12 children attending Monkey each week from a variety of local schools. We would love to have more!

For young people between 11 and 16 years old

This group meets in the back bedroom of our church house next door to the church. Led by a dedicated team of youth leaders Reveal is a place where young people aged 11 – 16 years can explore what it means to be a Christian teenager in today’s world through discussion, Bible study, games, drama, prayer and worship. Food, fun and friendship are also important aspects of this lively group.

Midweek Groups

Seedlings Baby & Toddler Group

During term-time: Tuesdays, 9.30am – 11.30am

Seedlings toddler group welcomes all pre-school children and babies from birth with a parent, grandparent or carer. Our sessions are mainly free play where the children can have fun choosing from a variety of activities and toys. There is always a craft or messy play activity and an area set aside for babies. We finish each session with some singing after everyone helps to tidy away the toys.

We have a lovely outside play area which is fully enclosed. The back door will be left open in good weather so children have free access to the garden. Tea, coffee, squash, fruit and biscuits are available from the hatch throughout the session.  There is a charge of 2 per family per session which includes entry, craft and refreshments.

Please come along and join the fun. You will be made very welcome.

Toddler Praise

Every Wednesday in term time from 10 – 11.30am

Toddler Praise is a play and worship time for children aged 2-4 years and their families. We begin with a time of free play where the children can enjoy a variety of activities and both children and adults can relax and build friendships. We often like to spend this time outdoors when the weather is good and we also like to get messy! So no best clothes please!

We then tidy up together and have a snack time around the table – usually drinks, fruit, cheese, breadsticks etc. Then we gather in a circle for our worship time – lively action songs, a Bible story and a prayer. The aim of all the stories and songs is to let the children know that God made them, God loves them very much and Jesus is their friend. We finish with a craft activity to remind us of our story.

There is a charge of £2 per family to cover the costs of refreshments and craft materials. There are a limited number of places available at this session so please speak to Jane before coming along.
