Our Story

This has brought us to where we are today…

The Hothouse is a children’s, young people and families project based on the Redhouse estate in Aldridge. We seek to provide opportunities for the community to engage with one another, develop skills and opportunities alongside provide a place for the Redhouse community to explore faith in Jesus, grow as disciples and worship together.

The Hothouse has been in operation for over ten years. It started as vision of the local church to serve the needs of the community on the Redhouse estate. Its beginnings were in the old Redhouse school, providing some afterschool care and activities. As the project grew and the school closed, a shop became vacant in Myatt Avenue and was transformed into the home of the Hothouse. With its own building the work, the project grew to encompass different age groups and a worshipping community was formed. The work of the Hothouse continues to grow and change as it seeks to listen the community on the estate and to the direction in which God is leading us.
