Wow! A fantastic evening of powerful testimony from Paul Jones and Fiona Hendley last night... Many thanks to the 102 people in church, and to Luke and his brother for expertly cooking dinner! Here's a few photos of the event!
Tomorrow, of course, is Father's Day, so to all the fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, fathers past, present and fathers to be, and all father figures everywhere... we invite you to join us. There is our usual service at 10.30am, plus a fab Messy Church Fathers Day Service at 4pm, specially geared for young families 😁
A wonderful together service this sunny morning. Mr and Mrs Abraham visited and helped Liz lead us in worship and praise of a God who we all declared is great, loving and true. Our Dads were tested as to whether they could offer their sons as a sacrifice like Abraham was asked to do of Isaac (but thankfully Colin and Andy were similarly reticent but dissimilarly to Abraham, unwilling to do so to Sam and Daniel). Do you feel tested and/or unable to do what God asks of you? But why do we all forget what we all know, that God is loving, great and true when we feel tested? We were reminded today that when we honour, trust and choose to obey God (as difficult as that may seem at times) that just as God provided another sacrifice for Abraham in order to save Isaac, He has also sacrificed his own son Jesus to save us too and will never do anything to harm us!
Unfortunately the heavy rain has caused significant flooding at the church and number 4. This means all groups and services are suspended till further notice. Keep watching for updates for alternative venues. Thank you to everyone who helped tonight
Thanks to all our wonderful uniformed groups who joined us this morning and added so much to our praise!
Evening worship includes informal communion at 6.30pm tonight; but a reminder that there's no Sunday service at St. T next week (May 20th) due to the church away weekend. All would be welcome instead at St. Matthew's in Walsall for a joint Pentecost service at 6.30pm.
