Here are some of the lovely people who help with the daily running of Aldridge Parish Church!
Meet the Staff Team
Maxine is a farmer's daughter from Cornwall who somehow found herself in the Midlands. Having studied Agricultural Animal Science at the University of Aberystwyth she first worked as a Student Pastor at St Michaels, Aberystwyth, before moving to Aldridge. Having arrived in 2001 and committing to stay for 2 years she unexpectedly still finds herself here having since married Mark and had two rays of sunshine, namely Samuel & Bethan. Having lived her fair share of life Maxine realises all to well it rarely goes to plan, but knows that God faithfully makes all the difference even in the mess, pain and beauty of life.
Maureen has worked in the church office as church administrator for nine years after many varied jobs, from working in a foundry to being a florist but describes this as the best job ever. She has lived in Aldridge all her life and was married in the parish church just over thirty years to John (boring some people may say - far from it - settled and content), they have two grown up daughters. In her spare time she loves anything arty, anything to do with nature, gardening, walking, just watching life. Visiting other places, oh and films she loves watching films.
Luke is the ICT Administrator for Aldridge Parish Church. His job includes managing all aspects of our network, and computers, as well as day-to-day communications with our church family. He has recently completed a BA in Applied Theology from Moorlands College. Luke has previously owned a local Christian bookshop, and spent three years working in the mission field, in Canada, Malta, and throughout the UK. He is a self-confessed geek, and loves all things science, technology, and games. He is also a huge NFL fan.
Janet is married to David and they have 2 adult sons who are currently living with them. Janet and David returned to the West Midlands in 2016 after living in Bradford for the previous 12 years.
They have really appreciated becoming part of the APC church family and have been warmly welcomed. It is great to be part of a church were we see Jesus making a difference in people's lives.
Janet also enjoys teaching in the Sunday Children's groups and occasionally is accompanied by various puppets. This is the second church where Janet has had the privilege of serving as a church warden.
Janet and David both completed the Sutton Coldfield Fun Run in 2018 and raised £1000 to support Christians in Sudan..
Andrew has been married to Elizabeth since 2002, and they have 3 children; Reuben, Esme and Carys. They have been in Aldridge Parish Church for 4 years, and Andrew has been a Warden since April 2015. They both lead Sunday School Groups too. As a family, they love holidaying in the Lake District or Northumberland. Andrew enjoys most sports especially Formula 1 and Cricket.
Jen was born in Aldridge and has been a member of APC all her life. She attended the Church school “Up the Green” before it became officially Cooper and Jordan. She met her husband Pete at Youth Fellowship (Yes it has been going that long!). She has 3 grown up children and 5 grandchildren who are all very special to her. After working as a lab technician she trained as a teacher becoming an Education Adviser before retiring. She has been involved in many areas of work at APC and has been thrilled to see God working in the lives of many people over the years. She continues to be excited to see what God’s plans are for us as we seek to grow spiritually and reach out to our community to share God’s love and welcome. Jen enjoys travel, getting out into the countryside and just relaxing with her knitting.
Paul was born in his grandma’s house in Pype Hayes, Birmingham and moved to Aldridge at the age of seven. He became a church member about 40 years ago when his second son was christened. He has two sons and four grandchildren whom he loves dearly and spends lots of time with, including seaside holidays. In 2003 after a talk in church by Phil Grainger, he became drawn to the work in Paraguay. Since then he has worked out there many times, has helped set up the charity OSA and is the deputy chairman and a trustee on the committee. He says “I feel a thrill every time I go out to Paraguay; it is almost like going home”! “Seeing the girls grow in confidence and Gods love is a wonderful thing”. He is now retired and in his spare time enjoys gardening, Pilate’s, travelling and riding his motorcycle.
Alan, a retired town planner, has been a Lay Reader at Aldridge Parish Church since 1980. He is married to Gillian, a retired specialist palliative care nurse, and they enjoy having 11 grandchildren! Together they have a ministry leading worship and preaching, and overseeing the marriage work at Aldridge Parish Church, including leading the Marriage Course. They also are Trustees for Krasif Aid, one of the mission activities of the church which works in Bulgaria.
Nigel is a life-long resident of Aldridge. He's a retired teacher but keeps in touch with the world of work doing advisory and marking work for one of the exam boards. He's married to Jenny and has two married sons and two grandsons. He enjoys exploring the great outdoors, is a keen photographer and plays golf badly.
Mary has been a Lay Reader at Aldridge Parish Church since 2003. She also chairs the Trustees of the Hothouse, working with children and their families in the Redhouse area of the parish, and serves as a governor of a successful Church of England Primary School in Handsworth, Birmingham. When not doing all this she enjoys walking, birdwatching, photography and visiting her family in Canada.

He plays bowls several times a week as time allows. He is a member of the Sutton Coldfield choirs (The Accidentals) & enjoys socialising. He is joint verger with Graham and they do what they can to make you feel welcome as you enter the church!
Graham was born in West Bromwich. As a child and into his teens he went to a Congregational Church with at least ten of the wider family. He married Chris in 1966 and they moved to Burntwood, before moving to Aldridge in 1969. Graham joined Aldridge Parish Church in 1971 and has been involved in various activities in the church over the years. He sailed at Chase Water until recently and now races model yachts instead!
